It’s all bold red and gold and orange up here in Brookline. As a side note, I’ve noticed that along the MBTA “C” branch of the T (the subway/surface trolley system) someone has made sure to always plant a white oak beside a red oak. Seriously. If you look, you will start to notice that there’s never a white oak tree without its red oak companion. Now, the red trees in my painting are supposed to be maples, but the idea of for these color pairings and the trees hiding an apartment building came to me from me gazing out the window of the T on my way down Beacon street, going to work in the morning and noticing the oaks.
