A print from a photo I took of Ganko Ittetsu’s storefront. This is a ramen place in Coolidge Corner I went to a with my friend Stacey a while back (and plan to visit again). It was all you could wish for when it comes to ramen, which, if you know me, you know is one of my favorite foods.
I know I probably butchered the kanji characters because I had to draw them mirrored on the block (so they would print the right way) and anyway, I don’t read or write Japanese. But, I did learn that those fabric strips over the doorway are called “noren” and are meant to keep the breeze and dust out, while also displaying the restaurant’s name. Thanks, Wikipedia!
